A novel of the Seluke
Stone and Crane
Three souls. Three lives. One journey.
This world was a long time in becoming…
The thin times, the hard times, have come and gone. Humanity has chased its destiny into the stars, and there life past describing swims in the deep above our heads.
Here, on this earth below, the world is green again. And those here work at a singular art - the art of becoming more fully human.
For Tsuru, daughter of the coast, this means a journey far inland on foot, over sound and over desert, up river and through mountains to the Obite at Selulke. Only in that most ancient archive will she learn what she most needs to know.
With her comes Luka, beloved household dog, and Haru, an embedded mind from generations long past.
Three souls. Three lives. One journey.
Process
First draft is done, worldbuilding done enough, I’m now in the deep work of turning a sloppy mess into something resembling a coherent narrative.
This will be my second novel, and the first done in consultation with AI. I’ve quickly learned that as much help as it can be with research and even workshopping concepts, the prose itself ages quickly. So all - or most at least - of the words you read will be mine. Blame me for the typos, blame me for the purple prose. Hopefully I’ll have gotten rid of most of both by the time the tale is through.
Coming early 2027, any revenue earmarked for research runway.
